Richard Childress Racing has elected to suspend use of the No. 8 and will run the No. 33 at Charlotte Motor Speedway and beyond. Kyle Busch was instrumental in the design of RCR’s stylized No. 8 and it has become synonymous with Kyle and an important symbol for his fans and the NASCAR industry. No one can carry it forward to the level that he did. The No. 8 is reserved and ready for Brexton Busch when he is ready to go NASCAR racing.

I am so sorry about this. It drags my the pain I felt in 1998 when I unexpectedly lost my Dad, Sarah and Shelly. I am extremely grateful for the relationship Kyle and I had. He treated me like gold. Showed me respect beyond belief. I wish I could do something to help everyone.

Kyle and I had a really challenging existence for many years. But we luckily took the time to figure out our differences and that was something he instigated with a conversation in his bus around how we each managed our racing teams. I was super eager for us to get on better terms. But it was he who made the effort for that to be possible. We did some media together also to laugh through some of the things we put each other through many years ago. Most recently we had even been discussing him running my Late Model at Wilkesboro this summer. He seemed extremely happy and we had planned to meet up next Thursday to get his seat to the shop. He laughed over the idea of his fans and JRM fans having to cheer in unison during that race. Kyle was one of the greatest drivers in NASCAR history. No one can deny that. But he was also a father, a husband, brother, son, and a friend to many. My heart is broken for the Busch family. I will never be able to make sense of this loss but I am thankful that we had found a way to become friends.

Man its heartbreaking knowing we'll never get to see Kyle Busch retire. Never get to see him around sport in retirement years. Run season in Trucks like he always wanted. Not see him at Brexton side as he inevitably moves up. I'm so sad over here man. He had so much left in him

Yeah. That empty feeling and being in a surreal dream like state where you’re sure you’ll wake up any minute now and it’ll just all go back to normal. He was such a critical part of the sport in all three divisions and now it just kind of ends and you never saw it coming.
The older fans might be able to answer this. Is this how it felt after the daytona 500 in 01? I never thought id have to imagine a nascar without kyle busch, especially like this..

Been dwelling on this since it broke, genuinely cannot believe this is real. Been pulling for KB for several years, especially after my dad picked him up as his favorite driver, and since my favorite retired. Make sure you tell your friends and family you love em tonight

We are saddened and heartbroken to share the news of the passing of Kyle Busch, a two-time Cup champion and one of our sport's greatest and fiercest drivers. He was 41 years old. We extend our deepest condolences to the Busch family, Richard Childress Racing and the entire motorsports community.

For like a solid 3 months during the first movie's buildup/release, my dad looked EXACTLY like this, and even usually wore a shirt of this color. It's always like a mini jumpscare seeing Jack Black in costume because it's like... why is my dad here ???
First look at Jack Black in costume as Steve for 'A Minecraft Sequel' #Minecraft #MinecraftMovie
