Surprised that nobody has started a forward deployed design engineering firm yet.
I’m interviewing for a lot of design engineering jobs, or product design jobs that are looking for someone technical.
Across the board, established companies seem to have no idea how to find and evaluate design engineers. Nor do they really have mature design to code systems in place.
But they all want it, and would probably pay for FDEs to drop in and fix their shit.

tbh this may be the largest impact designers have ever had on an exit. i don't think that they get more than $10B had they not beefed up design team last year.
product has gotten exponentially better every month for the last year or so.

i wish @claudeai had a search page, where i can have ephemeral conversations that don't get saved to my workspace. finding myself asking claude questions I'd formerly type into google, and they're starting to drown out the threads that matter.

story points are useful proxy for complexity, and making sure you have the information needed to do the work in a timely manner.
they really aren't the boogey man engineers make them out to be.

I still can’t believe we used to sit in conference rooms and estimate (lol) tickets in “story points” instead of … shipping stuff.
We can never go back.

I can’t believe people trust AI to transcribe calls and derive meaning from them.

A couple years ago it would’ve seemed crazy/creepy to record every meeting and conversation.
Now it feels crazy not to.
Most companies still don’t know this yet though, and the ones that do have a major advantage.

Started using Composer 2.5 for most knowledge work tasks, and it absolutely mogs Opus 4.6 .
Composer enriched 1000 CRM records in the time it took Claude to even make sense of the file.
