Feel so lucky to have been a mere witness to Roger and Rafa and Serena’s generation of tennis. Hard to imagine tennis (or sports) without them.

When Romney announced he was running for Senate, part of me said, “Oh, come on, Mitt. Hang it up already. Ride off into the sunset. Enjoy La Jolla.” I am really, really glad that he is in office. He has made SUPERB use of his term — especially in the first impeachment trial. 👍

Not unexpected. Russian nationalization has to now be the operating assumption for any western company that exits Russia. Secure networks and backup data accordingly. Above all else, keep local employees out of your planning and implementation.

No Russian leader since Tsar Nicholas II has done his country so much harm, so fast, as Vladimir Putin. He has isolated Russia from world trade, made the ruble worthless, destroyed 25 years of economic gains in a a week. 1/x

Today Council took time to recognize longtime South Sound food critic, Sue Kidd, who passed away unexpectedly last week. Kidd was integral in helping the Council-initiated Restaurant Rally program succeed and was a true champion for small business. She will be missed.

Thoughtful thread by Gen. @MarkHertling who understands these issues. I’d considered the obvious nuclear risks w/ no fly, but not the idea that it may not reduce casualties and may fracture the consensus that has built up in the West against RU invasion.
Many seem to be stuck on instituting a US/NATO No Fly Zone (NFZ) in Ukraine. Some asking for this compare doing so to what happened in Iraq and the Balkans. I don't think it's a good idea, for several reasons. So here's a quick thread. 1/11

Putin's war will have tens of thousands of victims. Each has a story and a life that rends the lives of their families and friends. She didn't die with a gun in her hand, but is a hero for trying to keep a little piece of human kindness together during an unjust war.
