As expenses surge and attendance slows, U.S. cultural organizations are raising admission fees to offset rising costs. The Guggenheim in New York is the latest to increase its entry fee to $30 — the new normal for major museums. nyti.ms/3ODMvWi

Our very own Director of Collections & Exhibitions, Maury Ford, wrote a fascinating article for ArtDesk discussing artworks and preservation at OKCMOA! Visitors cherish the collection and we thank Maury and his team for their wonderful work preserving it. readartdesk.com/feature/digi…

The Moderns group at @OKCMOA gave us the chance to print our first set of tote bags earlier this month! Their order created 7 1/2 hours of supportive employment in our shop. As part of our program, we tell our customers the impact they’re having in creating job opportunities!
Our OKCMOA Moderns started the first collaboration, and I can’t wait for many more with our neighbors @CurbsideApparel

I can’t think of a more fitting program named for Robbie, forever helping artists be seen.
The Paseo Arts Association is excited to announce the Robbie Kienzle Workshop Series. The first workshop will teach attendees how to take professional photos of their work. The workshop is taught by Evan Beasley of EB Photo. To sign up, click here: buff.ly/3JueBjU

We've 54 fewer minutes of daylight in OKC. I'm okay with it because the little one likes to say at bedtime, "But the sun's still out!"
Happy #SummerSolstice! With today's sunrise at 5:36 a.m. and sunset at 9:13 p.m., we've got 15 hours and 37 minutes of daylight. How are you spending it today?

Even after almost a year of being the guardians of an amazing six-year-old, I was unprepared for Father's Day, a non-holiday for me for the past 23 years since my dad died. I was surprised multiple times by strangers, our friend-family, and the little one (thanks to @Kimmish) 💕

Unless you’re conveniently heading to Japan in 2024, the mayor is not wrong. Don’t miss this!
I popped by the opening of the monumental Rodin exhibit now showing @OKCMOA just so I could give you this peek. This exhibit is only visiting two US cities & includes over 50 pieces by Rodin. Additionally, it includes works by Monet, Renoir, Degas & Cezanne. This is a can’t-miss!

NPR newsroom leader Edith Chapin, in a memo, says our former colleague Wade Goodwyn has died, after years fighting cancer. He was 63. Wade lived a rich and varied life before becoming one of NPR’s signature voices—a Southern-accented baritone that carried listeners to Texas.

This is a great question! I plotted the average August high in OKC versus "time to first 90 degree day" since 1971. The result? There's literally no correlation. TLDR: I hope you enjoyed the beautiful spring, because it means absolutely nothing for how hot this summer will be.

How often do the not making it above 89 years in the beginning of summer end up with very hot periods later in the year?

My family loves it when I tell ancient turtle stories with my ancient turtle voice. Both aren’t on Twitterville, so this is very true.
Happy #WorldTurtleDay to The Ancient One.
