What If I say that in reality Hanuman Ji never used or carried Gada with himself? (Based on Valmiki Ramayana)
Some people cannot digest this fact and will start trolling me for that. It's actually hard to imagine Hanuman Ji without any Gada, but this is how it is in Valmiki Ramayana.
Nowhere in Valmiki Ramayana or in Purana, it is mentioned that Hanuman Ji or even Sughreeva use Gada during any kind of fight.
According to Valmiki Ramayan, 1.17.25-26-
It says that all of them (Vanara) are the attackers with stones, and all are the attackers with trees, & all have their nails and claws as their weapons.
In the fight between Bali and Sugriva, it is generally depicted that they used their golden gadas to attack each other. But they used fists, trees, and rocks in their combat as mentioned in Ramayana 4.16.20-
"Properly clenching fingers this great fist of mine is firmly clenched, and it will unclench only on taking your lives when I pitch this on you at full speed".
According to Ramayana, 5.42.39-40, when Hanuman fought with Kinkaras, the Rakshas soldiers of Ravana, he grabbed an iron rod instantaneously from the Ashoka Garden.
If he had gada at that time he should have used it, no?
Then why Hanuman is always depicted with Gada as his primary weapon?
Vanaras including Hanuman ji are widely known for their physical strength. The Gada is also the primary weapon of some strong warriors of Mahabharata like Duryodhaa, Bhima, etc. It was psychology of ancient people that a mace in the hand increases an opinion that the warrior is very strong.
Another assumption is that Hanuman Ji himself is very powerful, because of the various boons he received from the devatas, One can only imagine what he would have done if he had a gada.
