Happy National Invasive Aedes Awareness Day! #AedesMosquitoDay 🦟🦟 With our black and white strips and aggressive day-biting, we’ve made our presence known here in SoCal. Just remember, all we Aedes mosquitoes need is just a small amount of stagnant water. #mosquitoLife

Those are NOT honey bees stinging you in the garden. Those are yellowjackets. I like that people want to save pollinators, but if you’re getting stung repeatedly, you are too close to a ground nesting yellowjacket nest. They don’t want to be saved. They want to be left alone.

it’s wasp grabbing season… male hymenopterans cannot sting as the stinger is a modified female ovipositor (but he tries his best to fake it)

Handed down my head lice model to @KaitChapmanUNL who will be doing some cool programs with schools in the future. Wooden skewer = strand of hair, microcentrifuge tube = nit/egg, molding clay = nymphs, with wire & string louse that won’t let it go
