Hey Kentucky! If you saw any #BroodX cicadas last year, you can check right now for "straggler" cicadas. These cuties "lost count" so to speak, and are coming out of the ground right now! #cicadas

Louisville, Covington, Florence, could all be hotspots. Straggler cicadas are an interesting phenomenon, cicada researchers at @MountStJosephU are looking for data on them. If you find cicadas in 2022 take a pic for @CicadaSafari or upload to @inaturalist so we can map them out!

Getting lots of annual bluegrass weevils #ABW here in KY. In Paris, KY and got 137 adults in soap flushes in 4 sqft. Still in low hundreds for growing degree days and forsythia just hit full gold. Get out and check now rather than wait for the half gold and half green bushes!
