If u shipped your last version of tech ask yourself what DB are u using? A lot of Vibe Coders will get hit when tech breaks or are forced to redeploy - lose their data bc of an ephemeral DB instead of volume attached DB w/DAILY Backups on -PostgresSQL MySQL Aurora AWS @Railway

Serial Entrepreneur Journal #17 Turned to shipping our TechDev faster. Came across @Railway as a solution with Claude Code to build our MVP products with a couple devs separate from main tech stack built on AWS. Today was eye opening with Railway going offline. Lessons below 👇

Part 3 we have our code on Github. In case @Railway has another major issue. I am having our Devs implement an Emergency plan for Emergency deployment on @render 1. grab env vars/secrets 2. backup dependencies for auth / stop relying on Railway for this.

part 2 -@Railway Should give access to Domain through Cloudfare so if bigger crashes happen you aren’t completely locked out (like I was). DNS and domains should never live on the same platform as your deployment. Railways didn’t email any access info after purchase.

Railway posted this a few days ago. Wish I red it then. Everyone dealing with the outage should give it a read @Railway #railway #cloudstorage

Google Cloud has blocked our account, making some Railway services unavailable. We have escalated this directly with Google. The Railway Platform team has since confirmed access to Google Cloud and is working on restoring access to all workloads. We have access to some of our Google Cloud–hosted infrastructure and are working to restore the rest of the service. We apologize for the disruption.

The Railway dashboard is currently unavailable, and all running Railway services are down. We're working with our upstream provider to restore service. Updates: status.railway.com/

Serial Entrepreneurship Entry #16 always do your DD even on partnerships. We formed one and added to our pitch deck… they are under a lawsuit- thankfully a business friend of ours pointed it out on the deck that was created and prevented a disaster of an investor deep dove in. #fundingraising #vcadvice #startup

Part 2 the lawsuit doesn’t affect our business relationship but it presents our partner in a light that you don’t want to be directly associated with. #businessowner #startup #fundraising

Serial Entrepreneur Entry #15 Founder Syndrome is real…. not completely negative but not good. Especially in a day and age when startups have to get stable product market fit within the first 2 years, fighting Founder Syndrome is important. I experienced it in my first fintech company I founded and seen dozens of others have a hard time sharing responsibility. You should centralized control of the startup through task management so you don’t get stuck with an unhealthy environment that prevents growth. #businessowner #Entrepreneur #founder

Serial Entrepreneur Entry #14 Misaligned Branding or a broken sales funnel is what differentiates the successful and the failures. You only get so many potential customers or partnerships and if you can’t capitalize then you will sink fast. This is why a customer discovery and refined branding are so important.

Serial Entrepreneur Entry #13 Hot Take for Founders Stop thinking you deserve anything from anyone in business. You can’t treat business relationships like personal relationships majority of the time. If you expect people to be in your corner to help you a long the way 9 out of 10 times you are putting yourself in a position to fail. People do business with people who they can trust will benefit them and their business. Everyone works hard to keep their businesses thriving so it’s a mutual respect thing.

Serial Entrepreneur Entry #12 Don’t start late One of our producers just won a Grammy last night! I always said I wanted to open a production studio once my tech career was enough to retire me. Opportunity fell in my lap to use my marketing skills and started managing artists on the side (of building other companies). Fast forward 3.5 years later - we are opening an anti-label and have signed over 100 artists and producers. All because we built a platform to help in an archaic industry that has backwards business practices that are from the 2000s.

Serial Entrepreneur Entry #11 If your idea doesn’t solve immediate needs then you likely are going to have a hard time selling your product or service. From experience, selling a future want is doable and can be great to be ahead of the curve but realize the endurance despite continuous no’s you will have to have. It’s taken 7 years for one of our products to finally have product market fit due to this exact issue.

Where is your go to place to celebrate milestones? Telling myself once we close the 4 business deals we are negotiating that I’ll send it back to Yosemite for some hiking and climbing. #businessgoals #businessowner #reset #buildinpublic

Serial Entrepreneur Journal Entry #10 Haven't done a 24 hour "Hack-a-thon" type work day in a while. Going for 24 hours starting at 9am. The goal is to build operations infrastructure and play a bit of catch after being out for 3 days with Norovirus. I am working on building improvements using #AI to takeaway a lot of previously manual operations. Additionally we are rolling our companies into the VC fund we are building. So streamlining communications setting up the business ecosystem within Teams. Will document everything I work on as my team and I work on our 4 businesses. A couple are startups and a couple are growth stage. #startups #vc #buildinpublic

Update 1 How we are replacing 1000s of Data Entry Roles with AI Our industry is archaic and still living in the 2000s. We have a chance to grab a $1B market within the next 2 years and this is how we are doing it: Building the structured process for the architecture so we can have an AI agent manage 50,000 customers data so we do not have to be like the industry and hire 1000s data entry workers. With the right model we will be able to take new datasets we receive from 50 locations every month. It will analyze and sort over 100,000,000 data rows and sort the data while creating the following for us: 1)10,000s accounting reports for customers accounts 2) Automatically find metadata to add new products that are published in without the customer having to notify us 3) data mine and provide us the ability to charge for an additional consultation service with big data insights 4) communicate with customers when our algorithm is missing key information on their new work 5) build data that can be used to open new opportunities for our customers where we can generate a 15% commission by using the data within our system. #machinelearning #ai #operations #BusinessSolutions #businessowner

Serial Entrepreneur Entry #9 If you are stuck... Don't do the following 1) Let yourself stare at the screen 2) Tell yourself you aren't good enough to overcome 3) Overthink to the point your mental and brain are strained -Instead do something to clear the mind. #business

Serial Entrepreneur Entry #8 I’ve been rejected for funding or partnerships over 150 times across 3 ventures. The difference between a real entrepreneur and a want to be is Persistence ability to network within your industry or sector. #vcfunding #entrepreneur #business
