Going to go through all the people I follow on Twitter and unfollow them here as I find them on 🦋 to use it like a checklist. If I unfollow you it's because I've found you over there. For those that haven't moved yet, you're missing out

Sorry to everyone I wasn’t able to find on 🦋. But I’m unfollowing everyone else and going to delete all my content on here soon after I migrate some posts over. See ya over there

Managed to go from 450 to 100, with about 75 brands/bots/etc dropped. If you're wondering what % of people have made the migration. Almost everyone I've ever regularly interacted with on here

Down to 82 left on this hell hole, I think we're mostly down to people who quit social media or moved to Mastadon. Scrolling quickly through my Twitter home feed it's all the same 4-6 people tweeting

If you're wanting to use this moment to start organizing, it is more important than ever that you use Signal.org to protect yourselves We've added a lot of features in the last few years, including adding usernames so you don't need to share your phone number

Apple up to it’s old shit again They wanted to use the “Action Button” to sell new phones, so they needlessly made this menu an overly complicated 3D animated mess It’s annoying because you can’t see all of the options without changing the setting

No government should have the power to kill its people, no crime is great enough that we should all give up that right. It’s not about what punishment their crimes deserve. It’s about what power we give just to act out our anger and sadness

This is not a statement about the goodness or badness of people, or criticizing any world view, but: People seem to mostly overestimate how much good one person acting alone can do, and mostly underestimate how much harm one person acting alone can do

I’ve worked on compilers, I wrote a handbook on them, I’ve given talks in a dozen different countries about them, I ran and hired for a company that was building a compiler Compilers are not hard. This is a bad teacher. The results are all the proof needed

Compilers was was known to be the hardest CS class at Cornell which was hard as it is. We were handed a 8-page PDF at the start of sem for a language spec we'd be implementing by the end of sem, split into 6 parts. On part 5, the median was a 0/100 and most the class failed.

Excuse me for thinking that the mark of a successful teacher is that their students can actually do the thing they are teaching afterwards This language spec is not complicated, they want you to think it is because they are compensating for not being good at their job
