I do envy transmascs a little bit wrt representing transness in art. Silver lining to historical invisibility is the ability to develop the visual language of transmasculinity largely in-community. As such, the discourses around navigating this language center on finer details.

mockery, strongly cementing incongruity and bodily masculinity under an artifice of femininity as the sole language for us.

It’s so strongly entrenched that virtually all depictions of us, from cis and trans artists alike rely on this loaded visual language. I have not once in my entire life seen a trans woman depicted with bottom surgery, but I’ve seen thousands of penises. Thousands of hairy women.

I find it bizarre that when you say “lesbians can be into to women who have penises” everyone and their mothers (including allies and other trans people) tell you that you’re doing “conversion therapy” rhetoric. But when you say the contrary it’s a harmless descriptive claim.
Noticing the subtle bait and switch rhetoric of "genital preference" when they actually mean "genital exclusion." I think people are unconsciously aware of how this discourse dehumanizes and reduces people (esp trans women) to meat so they use softer language to eschew the guilt

I'm sorry not even the finale could convince me Caine was the only one in the wrong. That's one of my biggest problems cuz like half the show is spent also showing they don't care about his wants or needs either. They just refused to connect in a way that wasnt telling him off
