Yatra Is Our Opportunity to End Hate Across India; Safeguarding It Is Our Duty, Not Merely Security’s Responsibility @MehboobaMufti From Pahalgam, Mehbooba Mufti called upon the people of Kashmir: “Every Amarnath pilgrim who visits us is a guest of Kashmir. They carry the story of our land, our people, and our values to every corner of India. It is our responsibility to ensure they leave with memories of our love, warmth, and hospitality. This is how we defend the soul of Kashmir and counter the false narratives built against Muslims.” She said that protecting the Yatra is not just the responsibility of the security forces—it is a collective duty of the people of Kashmir. In times of growing hate and polarisation, the Yatra should become an opportunity to build harmony, strengthen human connections, and bridge divides across India. Yatris are ambassadors who carry their experience of Kashmir back to their homes and communities. Every interaction is an opportunity to showcase Kashmir’s traditions of hospitality, compassion, and coexistence. The misinformation and prejudice directed against Kashmir and Muslims can best be challenged through genuine human outreach and a heartfelt welcome to every pilgrim. The Yatra should be a locally protected, locally supported, and locally owned process that reflects the true spirit of Kashmir and its people.

For the last few weeks, some NC MLAs seem to have only one question on their minds: "Who is @IltijaMufti_ ?" Press conference? — Who is Iltija Mufti? TV debate? — Who is Iltija Mufti? Political gathering? — Who is Iltija Mufti? At this rate, the next JKPSC exam may have a compulsory question worth 50 marks: "Discuss in detail who Iltija Mufti is and why NC leaders are so interested in knowing." 😄 Jokes apart, when many prominent leaders were behind bars and political activity had come to a standstill, Iltija Mufti remained among the few voices consistently speaking about the concerns and sentiments of Kashmiris. Agree or disagree with her politics, but her presence in public discourse could not be ignored. Perhaps that is why the question keeps coming up. To those repeatedly asking, "Who is Iltija Mufti?", time itself will provide the answer. Political relevance is not determined by statements issued against someone but by the impact they leave on public life. A note for the future: after a few years, everyone will know who Iltija Mufti is. Until then, the repeated question itself seems to be giving the answer. Sometimes the loudest criticism is the biggest advertisement. 😉

Pulwama–Kakapora–Pampore road is in a deplorable condition. Despite connecting and serving one of the region’s largest industrial areas, the road remains riddled with potholes and severe deterioration. This critical stretch deserves urgent attention, repair, and long-term development to support commuters, businesses, and economic growth.

Planting a rice sapling in Kashmir’s fertile fields today has become an act of defiance. Stop criminalising the livelihood of farmers who sustained not just their families but J&Ks economy even during militancy. Stand with Kashmir’s farmers.

On the 44th death anniversary of Mirza Mohammad Afzal Beg Sahib, we remember a visionary leader whose contributions to land reforms, social justice, and the empowerment of ordinary people left an indelible mark on Jammu & Kashmir. The tributes paid today at Sarnal, Anantnag, reflected the enduring respect for his legacy and ideals. @Mehboobbeg

Talib Hussain’s wife & children yearn to see him. He’s been arrested since last week for merely staging a peaceful protest against Forest Department’s illegal demolition drive in Sidhra. Request @manojsinha_ ji to consider releasing him.

Revenue Department is trying to snatch 2000 canals of fertile agricultural land in Dangerpora Pulwama from poor families who’ve cultivated paddy here since centuries. Like Sidhra the JK Government here too is misusing police to implement these illegal diktats by threatening to slap PSA against protesters. @manojsinha_ @JmuKmrPolice Kashmir’s land belongs to it’s people. Appalled that the locally elected government leaves no stone unturned to strip people of their land to ensure they become landless & homeless. @CM_JnK

Unfortunate that PDP Leader & leading social activist Talib Chowdhary has been jailed for fighting for the rights of poor marginalised tribal community. Treating him like a criminal simply for taking out a peaceful march against an arbitrary demolition drive in Sidhra sends a chilling negative message to Gujjar Bakerwals who have always stood by India. Talib must be released @manojsinha_ @JmuKmrPolice

Irrespective of the manufactured outrage and selective interpretations of legal provisions, @MehboobaMufti ’s visit to AIIMS has achieved one thing; it has brought back focus on a project that has been neglected for far too long. Mehbooba Mufti would do well to visit the site again in September to ensure that the project does not miss another deadline of December 2026-as it did with the previous December 2025 deadline & perhaps many before that. Let the circus of performative outrage continue!
