Qui Vadis: I shot this in Rome because it felt like a special moment that was meant for me, for her and for God. Many of you associate my work with the racy and the provocative, which is mostly accurate. But that definition alone does not capture the zeitgeist of my practice. When I started my career in art 12-13 years officially (it was always a “hobby” of mine) I set out to do one simple thing: create iconic imagery of cool people, places and things.
That simple philosophy has guided me well, after all I’m an artist not an academic.
Circling back to Quo Vadis, it felt like an epiphany moment where the intersection of my art discipline, my culture and my faith all led me to that very moment in time.
For me the art journey, much like my life, has been somewhat of a spiritual nature. It’s guided me in the most difficult times, it’s torn me down, and it’s rebuilt me new again.
These are moments that don’t just embody my work, they also embody a piece of me, my very essence.
I always like to let my work speak for itself, and so I don’t often put many words to my images, but every now and then I like to share deeper meaning so that you can get a glimpse of who I am and what I do!
