Thank you @Switch_AFR@ShibaNakakande for this story. The right to education begins at birth and you can argue even before. The period between 1 to 8 years is important for brain development and shaping who we become. ECCE is crucial and we need more teachers & innovators here.
When a child is protected from Malaria, they donโt just survive-they'll also thrive in the classroom and beyond. As @UwezoUganda, we say, letโs make sure every child sleeps safely under a mosquito net #Everynight.

This week, as we mark GAWE 2026, weโre reminded that access to education is still out of reach for far too many children.
Through the Kuyenda Program, weโre working directly with communities to close that gap supporting inclusive learning spaces and strengthening local voices to advocate for better investment in education.
Thereโs real momentum on the ground, but scaling this work takes partnership. Weโre open to working with those ready to invest in long-term, community-led change.

This evening, we are excited to host a team form @SaltTvUganda as they interview our Executive Director @MNakabug about the proposed Primary Leaving Examinations grading system. She highlights the importance of Competence Based Curriculum, focusing on learners' ability / skills beyond grades. Letโs have a measure to assess what learners are able to do at different level.
Uwezo Uganda joins the world today in celebrating the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. UNESCO reports women make up just 33% of researchers globally and only 35% of STEM graduates. In Uganda, our 2025 Girlsโ Education Conference Communiquรฉ called for stronger investment in girlsโ STEM participation, teacher support, and safe learning environments to close the persistent gender gaps.

None of this would have been possible without you - and for that, we are truly grateful.
