Today is a very special day @UCC !
The university was formally opened on 7 November 1849 by the first president, Robert Kane. Queen's College Cork initially opened with 23 professors & 115 enrolled students. The 3 founding faculties of the new college were Medicine, Arts & Law.

Philip Cairns (13) vanished on this day in Dublin in 1986 while walking back to school after lunch break. His schoolbag was found in a laneway in south Dublin one week later. Someone knows the answer. Thinking of Philip and his family. @gardainfo @ForensicSci_Ire
