Read this thread 🧵 It's a list of interesting easy to read tariff articles, well researched and sourced. You'll be impressive over the Holidays with your relatives 🤣😅😂😅☠️
I know almost everyone became a tariff expert overnight, but for those who still aren't, a list of @CatoInstitute pubs that might help: On the long history of US tariffs: cato.org/publications/proble… (by @PhilWMagness) cato.org/policy-analysis/doo… cato.org/commentary/bidens-n… /1

Can we retire the label "neocon" from our analyses of possible Republican foreign policy people who might join the Trump administration? Even 20 years ago, the term provided little explanation. Today, it has no meaning, other than 'people I don't like.' Be more precise, please.

It’s going to be wild to watch the Trump administration claim the election gives them a “mandate” to implement Project 2025, when they spent the entire election telling people they were actually against it. And the media will largely shrug.

A Putin victory in Ukraine— annexation of big chunks of land & people by invasion and occupation— is also a victory for Communist Xi, the mullahs in Iran and the terrorist allies Hamas and Hezbollah, and cray dictator Kim Jung Un. I assume future leaders of Trumps national security understand this obvious fact. I hope they will explain it to our new president.
