I had the opportunity last week to speak on a panel at the Global-Asia Family Office Summit 2024 and meet with a number of family offices from around the world.
One interesting topic that came up during the panel and in side discussions with family offices who attended - apparently its not easy to even find out about the funding rounds of high quality, top-tier VC backed startups like
@arta_finance (used as an example). There are platforms for investing in early stage startups and some private banks get you access to very late stage (thinking Stripe and OpenAI) but the family offices I spoke to did not know of platforms where they could follow a top-tier VC into co-investing into a startup they were excited about and could possibly help. As a founder I understand the dynamics on the startup side well and think there may be a possible way to bridge this gap.
At
@arta_finance we enable our members to invest in Private Equity, Private Credit, VC, Public Markets etc but have not offered any direct investments into startups. Lets say we did - enable co-investing into high-quality startups that had been backed by top-tier VCs, say a startup like Arta that's backed by
@peakxvpartners,
@RibbitCapital @coatuemgmt, would family offices and HNIs be interested? I spontaneously asked this at the conference and a bunch of people raised their hands so I thought I would run the same check online too.
Please let me know here (
