My dislike for OOP, and anything "X-driven development", is that they encourage people to turn off their brains and look for patterns instead (sadly this includes DoD). They are all dogmatic programming. We need atheist programming! Brain powered coding!

Most of the features visible in previous imagery comparison will be actually removed from it: roads, fields, urban areas etc will be vectorized into separate layers, allowing better compression, seasonal variation and procedural rendering. Forest layer with the new|old imagery:

Found the name of algorithm I use for tree placement in #outerra
Correlated Multijittered Sampling. This has got to be the most remarkably simple way to produce isotropic blue noise. Equivalent to just starting with a canonical grid and then shuffling the block columns and rows. ow.ly/Vs4050nR6x8 ow.ly/mgpg50nR6x9
