a huge male Jaguar (Panthera onca) that regularly roamed the trails of this remote rainforest. Despite having only one eye, he has not only survived many years but remains probably the top cat in his large territory, a testament to his great fitness.

Soon this part of the woods will be logged the trials of existing in a working forest and I can't help but wonder where they'll go. Gods willing these kittens still have over a year with their mom - time enough to learn what it means to be a cougar in this ever shrinking world.
And I know these photographs will delight, perhaps intrigue (how alluring their secret lives are), but at the end of the day I hope they inspire people to empathize, to care, to do their part towards the conservation of wild lands.”

“I found a game trail that crossed from one side of a creek to the other. On the uphill side I set a camera trap with a camtraptions PIR sensor to see what would make use of the trail. Photos of deer, raccoon, skunks, and squirrels appeared.
I also had several photos of this curious Black bear cub who showed up a few different times through the summer! Luckily it left the camera setup alone, except for a quick sniff of the lens.”
