Seeing posts about the cost of living in Canada reminded me of when my wife was pregnant. At the time the Canadian dollar was roughly 50% to the US dollar. We went up to Vancouver for the night and to see if we could find some bargains. >>
"Why not?"
"It has Canadian safety standards, they're different in the US."
"Oh, that's OK, I said. Yours are probably even more stringent than ours." I said thinking a car seat is a car seat. >>
She wouldn't budge and was insistent. "What happens if you get pulled over and the officer notices your car seat only conforms to Canadian standards?" She asked incredulously.
I was honestly stunned silent. No car seat for us.
Alcohol consumption among the young is down 50% ? The amount of time and money I wasted in the bars in my twenties is ridiculous. Would I do it differently given another chance? Probably not.
