🌳 The African baobab — often called the “Tree of Life” — can live for over 1,500 years. Native to South Africa and other parts of Africa, it stores water in its massive trunk and supports entire ecosystems with food, shelter, and nutrients. One of the oldest and most remarkable living trees on Earth.

The intersection of contemporary art and faith is often overlooked but there is growing appetite to consider this. The Exhibiting Faith podcast is therefore timely and helpful to speak into this discussion. Faith both as a subject of art but also as a motivating force for artists. I had listened to the first season of the podcast and was very happy to receive an invitation from art writer and critic @DavidTrigg for season 2. We spoke at the @V_and_A @VADundee Dundee where my Church Forests series is included in the Garden Futures show (ending 25th January 2026). I was impressed by his considerable research and thoughtful questions. Like the best interviewers, he afforded you space to speak then asked insightful questions. We discussed what on earth non-fiction photography is, the Border Patrol series, Gingers, of course, and what gets me out of bed in the morning? He also uniquely draws out the role of faith in my work. You can skip to the different chapters or listen to the whole thing. Also check out the back catalog there are some cracking pods. exhibitingfaith.buzzsprout.c…
