Lemme tell you about me and The Wedding. I wanted that piece played at my wedding, and my friend who recently then moved to Joburg was gonna play it. Two weeks before the wedding before the wedding she said she couldn't come. Her first big jhb gig. I couldn't be upset.

Same way he deals with the roots of jazz. Illuminating. I think the discussions with MM will be lit

No need. In a documentary, Abdullah even plays marabi sounds explaining that they’re originating from Marabastad. I have you covered.

Abdullah Ibrahim was a difficult man to interview. He spoke in parable. In metaphor. In metaphysics. You could not pin him down. I later found he was a very difficult. Period. The first time I bumped into him walking anonymously on Plein street circa 2003 he literally growled.

Those were moments in Twitter before X that sparkled with music and mistaken identity and debates about where the capital of SA jazz was

Beautifully captured mate. The stories have yet to be told. This is “Coming soon” as we used to say at the bioscopes.

I can loan you a Tsek or two to go with those snotklaps you've been posting? 😁🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️
It is. A threat of legal action as stated in previous exchanges. You have a problem with me threatening legal action against someone who told a big lie that is damaging to my work? Why?
