No one does Health Sciences better than @UNKearney!
Hands-on learning. Real-world skills. Future careers. 🩺🔬 Nearly 20 high school students joined us on campus today for the first of four Health Science Explorers Summer Camps, diving into hands-on experiences across a variety of health care fields. From solving a simulated crime in a forensics lab to practicing IV placement and ultrasound techniques, campers got a firsthand look at the skills, technology and careers shaping the future of medicine. #PowerOfTheHerd

Let's get digital! 📹 This week's Digital Expressions Media Camp saw students gain hands-on experience with the tools and skills used by today's media professionals. Launched in 2016, the camp provides hands-on instruction in storytelling using professional-level equipment and software. This year, 19 campers anchored and produced a news program, went live as DJs on the campus KLPR Sports radio, learned the fundamentals of photography, videography and video editing, listened to guest speakers from the media industry and toured local broadcast stations, including Usher Media and NTV News. #PowerOfTheHerd

Carter Schultz, who recently earned a degree in applied health sciences with a minor in public health, is part of the inaugural cohort of students enrolled in the @UNMCCOM pharmacy program based at the recently opened Health Science Education Center II. Upon completion of his pharmacy degree, he wants to begin his career at a smaller, community pharmacy where he can create meaningful connections with patients. “I love small-town Nebraska,” Schultz said. “I want to go back, not necessarily to Doniphan (Schultz hometown), but to a small town because that’s where I want to raise a family someday. The small-town feel brings a lot of charm and has definitely shaped me into who I am today. I don’t think you can get a true Nebraska experience unless you’re going to one of these small schools.” FULL STORY: unknews.unk.edu/2026/05/21/i… #PowerOfTheHerd
