I love working for the ABC and work extremely hard to tell stories that resonate. We're taking industrial action to call on ABC management to make an EBA offer that provides quality jobs, so we can keep delivering great journalism. #QualityNewsQualityJobs

I love working for the ABC, but my colleagues and I face insecure and unsustainable jobs. We're taking industrial action to call on ABC management to make an EBA offer that provides quality jobs, so we can deliver the quality stories Australians rely on. #QualityNewsQualityJobs

Working for @abcnews is a privilege that I never take for granted. But too many of my colleagues struggle with insecure work & little or no pay progression. We're taking industrial action today to call for a fair Enterprise Agreement. #QualityNewsQualityJobs

The ABC must commission an independent inquiry into the broadcaster’s independence from outside interference and apologise for allowing external pressure to influence the dismissal of Antoinette Lattouf and attempts to have other journalists sacked. buff.ly/4hCtsaM #MEAAmedia

Solidarity with middle eastern journos at ABC, dozens of whom have told me about the racist abuse they regularly cop while doing their jobs serving the public. Your employer may not have your back but @withMEAA members do. We won’t stand for this.

Shabby treatment of @plalor by SEN. Ethical journalists are able to separate their personal opinions from their professional work. Media employers should be backing their staff, not caving into external pressure from those who disagree with presenters' personal views. theage.com.au/sport/cricket/… #MEAAmedia

Breaking my mat-leave twitter ban for this huge moment! The public needs journalism we can trust, told by diverse, accountable human beings who prioritise ethics and quality. All journalists who write for nine, whether in-house or freelance, are standing together for this! ✊✊
25 Jul 2024
Freelancers are standing with staff today to demand that Nine comes to the table with a good offer for all workers. Freelancers at Nine this year are fighting for a signed agreement with annual increases, fair rates, and key conditions; so that they can have the security to continue to produce the quality work that Nine relies on. Journalism jobs with good pay and conditions, both in-house and freelance, are necessary now more than ever. Insecurity and precarity are detrimental to the production of quality public interest journalism and we recognise the common interest of staff, freelancers, and the broader community, in fighting to ensure a sustainable industry. Pledge to take part now: meaa.io/9FLPledge #MEAAmedia

It’s been a year since ABC management formally agreed to conducting a gender and race pay gap audit to structural address workplace inequality, in return for workers calling off industrial action. Your staff held up their side of this deal ABC, why haven’t you held up yours?
