Steve Sarkisian shares a masterclass on delayed gratification and why perseverance is a lost art.
"Nobody's gonna give you playing time. You earn that playing time."
Entitlement is easy - earning it is hard.
"Sometimes that playing time doesn't get earned until year 2, year 3, maybe even year 4."
Then he called out what's missing:
"What we've lost, in my opinion, as a society, is the ability to persevere when things aren't going your way."
"Through hard work, through mental toughness, through some resiliency, you work towards it and then it's even more gratifying when you do get that."
It means mastering the art of delayed gratification and patience.
Nothing worth having comes easy.
Stay patient - keep showing and doing the work.
