I see mention of the skill-based matchmaking component I designed for Halo 2 and 3 on this site every so often. It's usually mentioned reverently, but then an outlier jumps in to claim "it can't work today". I disagree.

they say I qual for to16.hesitant to take it, so I could play all day and get locked, but then the guy said we'd have at least an hour of warm ups. Maybe 15 minutes of warmup not even able to shot a boy comfortably and they put me into a 7 man. At least pay my expenses @Tashi343i

Carried a huge kayak over my shoulder to the river then got thunderstormed on and it was one of the greatest things. Humans are meant to feel capable and accomplished.
If you're constantly living in comfort you're putting yourself through a lot of misery without knowing it
