We're now officially into the new league year. Of my 59 expected cap casualties: - 30 have been released - 2 retired - 3 traded 22 releases that I did not predict

The argument for avoiding some positions early in the first round of the draft is made really well here. You can get a good RB in FA just about every year. Need to get lucky to get a good OT in FA.
Think this is a good illustration of the positions where you can likely find quality players in free agency. Will be plenty of young talent available at RB, LB, and DB. Pickings are slim at QB, WR, and especially OT.

Fifteen wins over FBS teams. Eight wins over FEI top-30 teams. Four wins over FEI top-5 teams. No losses. No matter how you slice the data, the 2025 Indiana Hoosiers are the most accomplished national champion to date. bcftoys.com/2025-fei

Yes, I can do this. I will send them left. I will send them right. I will send them down the center. I have no idea what I’m talking about. Good luck Brows.

Penn State firing James Franklin set off a chain of events impacting where 33 college football players will play next season (so far). 3 players are following Franklin to Virginia Tech 20 players are following former Iowa State HC Matt Campbell to Penn State 10 players are following former Washington State HC Jimmy Rogers to Iowa State This is just the portal, there's probably a bigger ripple among recruits too. Plus other ISU players leaving for different schools

More cool stuff from Chris! And as he highlights in his terrific substack, the NCAA publishes the "nitty gritty" data that every selection committee it oversees uses in its process: stats.ncaa.org/selection_ran… Why doesn't the CFP do the same?

This is why Ole Miss being up at 6 kinda didn't make a ton of sense to me. But I guess if you're going with head to head, they beat Oklahoma, who beat Alabama, and then Miami over ND... I guess?

By request from @GaryWCE here is the resume visualization for the teams ranked 6-12 in the final playoff committee rankings. Ole Miss has the lowest Avg Opp Rating ND is only team w/ <2 wins vs teams rated >10 Bama and OU both w/ 6 wins vs teams rated >10
