This offseason,
#Bears QB coach JT Barrett referenced that there were instances where QB Caleb Williams tried to do a little bit too much on offense instead of just taking what the defense would give him.
This play in the Week 16 matchup against the
#Packers serves as an excellent example of what Barrett was saying.
The offense is driving, and the
#Bears start out in a 2x2 formation with Olamide Zaccheaus motioning in to run a crossing route.
DJ Moore and Jahdae Walker, condensed at the top of the screen, run a double corner to clear out the boundary side, opening up an easy completion for Williams to hit Zaccheaus underneath.
Meanwhile, Colston Loveland runs a dig route to clear out the safeties while Kyle Monangai runs an out route to get the LB out of Zaccheaus' path.
Williams is already looking in the right direction, but if he comes back to the crosser, it's an easy completion that is schemed up for him, allowing the offense to create a big play with minimal effort.
