Has anyone ever done a deep dive into why every slightly larger than average gas station sells random figurines and glass art?

It seems clear to me this person was being open and curious, but even if/when that's not the case, I ascribe to the idea outlined in the second image.

Dorothy Day with an insight I feel is particularly relevant for all of us Catholics online. After being told she might be trying to be a "moral custodian" by a priest.

Your competition is the entire world, not just your immediate area. Anyone can buy tickets online, and as a finite good their value has increased due to this ability to reach higher demand in an expanded market. Also artists make more money via concerts than music sales now.
does anyone have an explanation for why concert tickets were $35 fifteen years ago and now they're $350

I truly cannot comprehend the thought process that would ever lead to making this decision.

Forgot why I don't like to wade into the discourse
If you, as a Catholic, are going into a social event/first date with the intention of plucking out a spouse, you are not open to the relationality & communal reality that is involved in forming a mutual union with another person. This woman is reading the vibe correctly.

As everyone knows, the biggest problem for single Catholics is that the men have long, unrealistic checklists.

I recognize that we have a dearth of community, so this is not an easy ask. But people need to realize that their intentions, no matter how good, do not take on the same interpretation when they are random and one off, as opposed to integrated into an existing communal structure

If you’re actually reading all this in good faith and wondering what this might look like, I would recommend reading @LeahLibresco’s “Building the Benedict Option”

Sad news for the city of Chicago, amazing news for the South Shore Line. We need a downtown South Bend station TOMORROW. @southshoreline

It looks cool from exactly one angle: this one. But it's not built into an environment where that's the way it will be encountered regularly. It's a statement piece that will most often be read outside the context of the statement it's trying to make.
Unpopular opinion (apparently): the Obama presidential library looks so fucking cool. I don't know anyone can see this and think it doesn't look cold as fuck
