Added perplexity as the AI assistant on my phone yesterday. So much better than Gemini and on another Galaxy compared to Apple Intelligence.

If you're looking for a comedy show, highly recommend hitting up a hot tub at an RV park in the US. Heard everything from "I don't bank on my phone" to "China reads 100% of my text messages" to "AI was invented by Elon to kill us with lasers in space" to "I use the same password for everything" to "if we just don't use AI, it'll go away". Also so much more stuff I can't/won't share... 10/10 for entertainment purposes. But I'll never do it again.

Some new live sessions are launching in AutomationTown Forgive the salesy post. With so many updates in Nov/Dec in the AI space, it's time to start putting some of that into real accounting workflows Starts Jan 7th $39/mth gets you access to the 300 person community Standing free tech support and consulting sessions from Wesley Hartman and @meetopzer are also continuing into the new year along with a surprise recurring session from someone well respected in the space.

Yup, until you've lived it across multiple industries and multiple businesses - it's really hard to fathom from the outside how big of a problem this really is from an accounting perspective. - Techies see this as an automation play. - Operators see this as a logistics/vendor issue. - CEOs see this as a problem throwing money/people at it can fix This is why I love companies like @a2xaccounting and @translucent_io who really understand a problem and are carving out a small slice of making people's lives easier.

And the callback service is conveniently broken. I see why people just let the $6/mth charges go on...

There's gotta be something else to the @Bench "shutting down today" story. Something so bad it required this vs. selling/being civil. We all know the business model didn't work, too much debt, etc. Maybe one day we'll find out. Or maybe it's just a classic story of bad decisions.

Okay, the pro mode ($200) of chatGPT is really good. Task I used to use Claude for took maybe 30 mins and REALLY careful prompting, lots of back and forth. chatGPT o1 Pro = 1 prompt, 1 clarifying questions answer and 2 minutes later....perfect. No edits required.

Trying new AI tools is honestly so much fun. But probably not as fun as drifting through Times Square with an RV.

Best use case for AI = setting up an @elevenlabs voice agent to call the local @handelsicecream to ask when candy cane/peppermint is coming in...twice a day with different voices until they make it.

One of the weirdest things happening in chatGPT land this weekend. There are some good threads out if you search them up with more context.
