Scientists in Japan have developed a groundbreaking treatment that could double the average lifespan of cats, extending it from around 15 years to nearly 30 years. The key lies in a protein called AIM (Apoptosis Inhibitor of Macrophage), discovered by Dr. Toru Miyazaki. While cats naturally produce AIM, they lack the ability to activate it effectively. This deficiency leads to the gradual buildup of waste in the kidneys, the leading cause of death in domestic cats. Dr. Miyazaki’s team created an injectable form of activated AIM that directly restores the kidneys’ natural cleaning function. In clinical trials, cats with advanced kidney disease showed dramatic improvement after treatment. The therapy works both as a preventive measure for healthy cats and as a treatment for those already ill. If approved, the treatment could revolutionize feline healthcare. Commercial rollout is expected to begin in Japan as early as 2025, with wider availability projected for 2027. The research has also sparked interest for its potential applications in human medicine, as the AIM protein plays a similar waste-clearing role across species.

I have witnessed this club go from doubters to believers, and from believers to champions. It took hard work and I always did everything I could to help the club get there. Nothing makes me prouder than that. Us crumbling to yet another defeat this season was very painful and not what our fans deserve. I want to see Liverpool go back to being the heavy metal attacking team that opponents fear and back to being a team that wins trophies. That is the football I know how to play and that is the identity that needs to be recovered and kept for good. It cannot be negotiable and everyone that joins this club should adapt to it. Winning some games here and there is not what Liverpool should be about. All teams win games. Liverpool will always be a club that means a great deal to me and to my family. I want to see it succeed for long after I have moved on. As I’ve always said, qualifying to next season’s Champions League is the bare minimum and I will do everything I can to make that happen.

Then there’s all sorts of contorting to explain how Robertson ‘could have’ - NOT DID! - impact Donnarumma. Webb says his duck “could still cause hesitation from the goalkeeper” but the footage undercuts this. We’ve had loads of evidence from ex-pros - those who have played between the sticks as well - on why Donnarumma’s movement and reaction was not affected by Robertson. All we’ve got the opposite way is hypothetical ‘could haves.’ A reminder the law states ‘making an obvious action which CLEARLY impacts on the ability of an opponent to play the ball.’ Well done boys, good process🙃
