We just installed our first energy storage equipped (ESE) induction range.
This one went into a Channing St. Copper Co.’s founder’s home. It replaced an old gas range, and is plugged into a regular outlet (you can see it in the upper-right corner of the stove in the picture).

Those installation costs show exactly why we need Energy Storage Equipped (ESE) appliances.
In the article, the low end estimate for switching (appliance and install) to induction is $8,600. The high end is $24,400. With lots of complexity and headache along the way.

ESE induction ranges take the installation cost to $0, with no hassle.
So you get a more powerful, more reliable appliance, that powers other home essentials in a power outage, and all that for thousands of dollars less than a plain old induction range.
