I'm saddened by Midjourney's fate. I've always been a super user of the platform, since the V3 era. My main account has over 30,000 renders, and I've been subscribed to the PRO plan for years.
Midjourney is still the leading reference for artistic images. But is that really what the tool will become? "Just" artistic images? I can't use it for my complete projects because:
>The character consistency tool is outdated.
>The image editing tool is outdated.
>The prompt adherence is far behind the competition.
>The images, despite being extremely beautiful, have excessive artifacts/glitches that need editing.
In other words, to use Midjourney images at a publication-ready output level, it's necessary to use/merge them with other editors. Ultimately, a storyboard of images from Midjourney ends up losing much of its artistic quality because it has to go through so much external editing that the style gets lost.
I understand the immense delays and setbacks due to the model working with its own resources/private ideals. I even admire that. But it's still sad, because it gives the feeling that it could have been something more
