Here’s the team I used to go 10-5 at the World Championships this weekend! It was an incredible experience, and I’m going to put some of my thoughts in this thread…
when more team info is open the best players are happy because they will win more, then the casual players are also happy because they are worried their opponent at table 467 scouted their camerupt’s nature.
and then everyone in between is a cheesy gimmick loving schmuck
Congrats to the many who got the solution, which is in the reply.
More coming soon!
Open to feedback on the design here, this was my first time creating them in game rather than showdown.
Pokemon Puzzle - Champions edition
The rules are simple - find the guaranteed win based on the situation and information below!
Make sure you include the full sequence required to win!
A little warm up puzzle here for the return of Megas…
Turn 1: double protect (without using mega, in case they don’t mega)
Turn 2: Ttar mega, uses rock slide. But be careful! Aerodactyl has to tailwind rather than attack, in case the opposing charizard protects this turn (and saves mega again)

I know a lot of new players have been trying out vgc recently, and I think this one is at an accessible difficulty level!
If you’re looking for more of a challenge, stay tuned… 🫡
it’s actually a crazy breath of fresh air to go back to playing pokemon where there’s no magic button to get out of dying to an incoming super effective attack for the first time in 6 years
Now that they’ve fixed the ability to click fake out after the first turn, they should really remove being able to side attack your own pokemon. What if a new player accidentally has their Kartana use sacred sword on their own Stakataka that just switched in?
Hot take, but I like the lack of items in Pokemon Champions. It was already flexing my teambuilding muscles when I couldn't default to putting some combination of AV, Clam, Cloak, and LOrb on every team.
I wouldn't mind a few regulations without Clam and Cloak.
Experiencing delays publishing the team report, so I wanted share it before Regulation F is officially over.
I'm very happy to share the San Juan Special Event Champion Team report! @chefVGC and I were able to solve Hard Trick Room in Reg F again, this time winning a major! ⬇️⬇️
I’m torn about a lot of the champions stuff. From a serious player perspective there seems to be a lot of missed potential. But I also know it’s important to make the game accessible to new players - more than ever if future main series game do move away from turn based battles
Hall of Fame fun facts! 🧐 #PlayPokemon
San Juan added! 🏆
@chefVGC's victory brings some records:
▶️ First win in Reg. Set F for Torkoal, Hatterene and Iron Hands
▶️ Combining both styles, Urshifu is now 1st in Reg. Set F major wins: 20 🥇

I won the 2026 San Juan Special Championships! It’s a small event but it means a whole lot to me after a down stretch that left me doubting myself. It means even more to cap off the SV era with a win for this team we have worked so hard on.

thanks to @KortexVGC who contributed to the team, and the rest of the padders who help in many ways.
thanks to all the guys who let me crash with them after missing my flight.
and thank you to my wife - who is not a pokemon fan but watched anyway - for always supporting me.
I felt really good about my play all weekend and glad some of it was streamed, especially managing to overcome an incredibly difficult matchup in semifinals.
I’m excited to keep improving in this next chapter of vgc.
team report by Brian on @DevonCorpPress soon 👀
