One of my fave singers. Saw him in concert a couple of times. That voice will be missed.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Levi Henry Jr., NABJ Hall of Famer, lifetime member, and founder of the Westside Gazette. We honor his legacy, his unwavering dedication to elevating Black voices, and his powerful example of the importance of Black-owned media.

How lovely…
Happy #WorldBookDay! In celebration, we're highlighting books written by four of our co-founders and trainers. These books all feature the rigorous research that these excellent investigative journalists have shared with the members of the Ida B. Wells Society for years.

Dan, my former partner on the DOJ beat at WaPo, was a generous colleague who worked hard to make every story better. And he was such a nice guy. Rest well, my friend.
I’m heartbroken by the death of one of my former @washingtonpost editors @DanEggenDC, who steered our coverage of the 2016 presidential campaign. His infectious delight at every twist and turn, his knack for nailing the “so what” of every story, and his pursuit of even more colorful, unique detail made my work and that of dozens of colleagues stronger. Before editing, he wrote definitive stories on the early hours and days of the 9/11 attacks. As former colleague @jdawsey1 says in Eggen’s obit, “Dan is one of those people who make the newspaper work.” Rest well, Dan. washingtonpost.com/obituarie…

I heard in person @cherylwt talk about her tremendous work on this project along with @SaaacamTx Director Mrs. Deborah Omawale Jarmon, two powerhouse women!
Often overlooked in America’s history of World War II are the 27 Tuskegee Airmen who disappeared in combat. Geoff Bennett sat down with Cheryl W. Thompson, whose father was also an airman. She chronicles the lives of the missing men and the racism they endured while serving their country in her book, “Forgotten Souls: The Search for the Lost Tuskegee Airmen.” to.pbs.org/3Ohp739
