ALT Quotation from an article from The New Stack:
“Anthropic's open plugin architecture made this possible.
Claude Code's MCP-based plugin system is designed to support third-party integrations, including those from competitors. The platform-versus-app dynamic that usually creates tension between companies is being replaced by a composability dynamic where both sides benefit. Anthropic gets a richer plugin ecosystem. OpenAl gets distribution inside a competitor's installed base.
This is not altruism. It is pragmatism. Both companies recognized that developers will use multiple tools regardless.”
“…it’s abundantly clear that the engineering excellence that created GitHub’s success is no longer driving it.”
Six-months-ago Andrew Kelley’s most concisely damning sentence keeps echoing in my mind.

Smart play by Docker with MCP Toolkit to provide the—albeit developer-centric—type of 2024 distribution that these things should have had in the first place.
Dear @readwise, consider at least hosting yours on Smithery or something officially, given that it should logically be remote anyway.
Though I would welcome an MCP Bundle distribution in the meantime, thanks 💕
I miss this scene, and good lord I cannot get over those ticket prices.

Sometimes I imagine an internal Radar at @Apple with a million votes titled “Users complain that Esc exits full screen”, where some greybeard interaction designer stands steadfastly on top of this hill, willing to die on it, yelling that it is *The Path of Righteousness*.
Algorithms exhibiting self-love for an image generation the gf and I riffed on as a joke.
I mean sure I guess that *would* have been among the most interesting things that happened this year 😂
Sad to see @FoursquareGuide app finally getting canned, though surprised the split survived this long.
I hope they’ll make @SwarmApp a capable exploration tool, I’m smacking my head as we speak that Google Maps nor Apple Maps can filter restaurant results by “Open Right Now”…
Barely used eBay for 20 years and it’s dumbfounding that the norm for things that are auctioned is still a hard time cutoff, which someone always snipes in the final minute. (Even using tools to do it).
It’s crappy for bidders, and for sellers who could receive a truer value.
Ever have those times where you think a web "app" might just be serving static pages to check a box that an online offering exists?
None of the dates are selectable, pop-up for month where none of those are selectable either 😅

Spoiler: the answer on the phone will be, "go to the office that is a one-hour commute away, get there early to get a queue number and hope that you will get called today. If not, come back tomorrow."
