Having deja vu at Pier 17 where in March we organized at the Town Hall about the toxic waste at #250WaterSt and then rallied in May at the @HowardHughesCo shareholder meeting. Tonight we are gathered again with our neighbors to advocate for the historic South Street Seaport.
"Grace Lee (@graceleeandco), the mother of a 4-year-old at the Blue School and co-founder of Children First, a group of concerned parents, said she wants to see a reduction in the level of airborne mercury vapor that the state deems acceptable."
"Another Children First activist @EmilyHellstrom1 a Peck Slip School parent, questioned what she maintained were financial incentives to cut corners in the testing. “It isn’t as though we haven’t seen organizations and governmental institutions downplay significant toxic threat."
