Her mother, Dr Dora Akunyili, in 2003" "Dr Akunyili's series of achievements have not gone unnoticed worldwide. Her latest and the most prestigious world famous Award from Transparency International is the ultimate achievement for her." β€” TELL, 2003
It was great joining Njideka Akunyili Crosby β€” a gifted Nigerian-born, Los Angeles-based artist β€” to unveil our first portrait together. This piece reflects so many chapters of Michelle and my story, and we’re thrilled that it will be on display in the Hope and Change lobby at the Obama Presidential Center starting this Juneteenth.

When the World Bank’s Chief Economist for Africa asks you to record a podcast episode, it’s an automatic yes! In my discussion with Andrew Dabalen, we explored AI sovereignty, expanding local capacity, and how context-specific AI solutions can support sustainable development.

Got an email notice that Meta was ordered to issue an additional payment for a class action lawsuit I was a member of. It’s probably going to be $3, but I’ll gladly accept it πŸ˜†

Dear beloved sports-loving Nigerian youths, After watching the performances of Davido, Burna Boy, and Rema at the opening of the 2026 World Cupβ€”at a time when Nigeria, the giant of Africa, is absentβ€”I felt a measure of consolation. This was reinforced by the fact that many Nigerians playing for clubs worldwide are representing other countries. Felix Nmecha, for instance, set a record by scoring the fastest goal at six minutes for Germany. I write to you therefore, knowing that this country belongs to you, the youth. You are more of stakeholders in Nigeria’s future than I am. I am 64 years old; by God’s grace, much of my journey is behind me, while yours lies ahead. It is therefore imperative that you rise to the challenge by obtaining your PVC, your most powerful tool for driving the change you desire. In the last three years alone, over 15 million Nigerians have turned 18β€”enough to decide who becomes President, Governor, Senator, Member of the House, or Local Government Chairman. Indeed, enough to shape the nation’s future. I know many of you are sceptical about politics and political parties. I understand why, but scepticism must not become surrender. You do not need to belong to any party or wait for anyone to organise you. Organise yourselves in your streets, campuses, communities, workplaces, churches, mosques, and social groups. Mobilise, debate, demand accountability, and take part in choosing those you wish to entrust with leadership. If you are organised and wish to hear directly from me, invite me. I will come and share my plans for you and our nation. Do not sit on the sidelines while others decide your future. I appeal to you to register and vote. Your vote can shape who becomes the next President of our country. My young friends, this is your country. Take it back. A New Nigeria is POssible. -PO

I’ve been trying to learn more about Folarin Balogun, and all the articles mentioning him being American by β€œaccident” are so weird πŸ₯΄ Like what the hell is this, Men’s Journal?

It’s in line with the renewed hope agenda
From Aguda, to Ijesha, to Lawanson, to Ojuelegba, to Yaba, there is an overwhelming amount of trash on the roads. What exactly is going on???

The fastest way to lose my attention is to spell my name incorrectly or ask for my feedback on a document that's heavily AI-generated.

Nigeria accounts for ~90% of MTN's operating profits despite being 33% of its total subscribers. It's obvious that MTN is fleecing Nigerians to subsidize the rest of their Africa operations. This is where the govt has to step in, but they won't.

The phrase "smart city" is clearly a marketing term for emerging markets, because every city should have good road infrastructure, fiber-optic internet, stable electricity, gas, and water supply πŸ₯΄
The new Enugu Smart City is currently the largest and most ambitious urban development project in Nigeria. While Eko Atlantic City covers 1,000 hectares of land, the new Enugu Smart City (Phase One) spans 2,500 hectares. Investors who acquire land in this area will enjoy the following facilities: βœ“ Good road network βœ“ Fibre-optic internet βœ“ Regular power supply βœ“ Gas and water supply βœ“ AI-powered smart security
