GM fam 🌅 My mom was visiting last week so I took the week off entirely to hang w her! She's my last parent left. I also lost all my grandparents. We had a great time, told many stories and laughed a lot too. I use to work through stuff like this, but when I experienced how fleeting life is, I now put it aside entirely for it. Bootstrap Nodes Beta Launch - Destra Decentralized Storage Network Today, we are launching the Bootstrap Node, a critical component of the Destra Decentralized Storage Network, which enables 100% decentralization. This plays a key role in the architectural design of the Destra Network, addressing centralization issues found in Filecoin & IPFS. There are two parts to the setup process to operate a bootstrap node on the Destra Decentralized Storage Network. First, the node operator must generate keys and register their Peer ID with the Destra Network. Then, they can start running a bootstrap node. We have deployed the DestraStorageBootstrapPeerRegistry contract, which handles the registration of new bootstrap nodes and includes the following features: 1. A Reputation System for existing bootstrap nodes through voting. 2. Users can vote on a bootstrap node. 3. If a bootstrap node accumulates votes that cross the minimum votes threshold and the majority are negative, it will be penalized and blacklisted. 4. The contract's core management features a 72-hour timelock mechanism. sepolia.etherscan.io/address… To start a bootstrap node and support the Destra Decentralized Storage Network, the following is the simplified overview of the setup process for you, involving two separate git repositories: 1. destra-storage-bootstrap-onboard (github.com/DestraNetwork/des…) 2. destra-storage-boostrap-node(github.com/DestraNetwork/des…) 1. destra-storage-bootstrap-onboard: Before running a bootstrap node, you need to generate a key pair and a peer ID, and register your peer ID with the Destra Network. To complete this registration and onboarding, you will need a wallet with at least 0.01 Sepolia ETH for transaction fees, and access to a Sepolia JSON-RPC API. Clone the repository, install dependencies, and execute npm run register. Follow the detailed documentation at github.com/DestraNetwork/des… to complete this registration process. 2. destra-storage-bootstrap-node: After completing Part 1, you can proceed to set up the bootstrap node. This part of the setup is more complex. Similarly, clone this repository as well, install the dependencies, configure the environment variables, place the key pair directory, and start the bootstrap node.
