I will be watching with interest on where both Senators' statements and the nominee's responses focus, particularly in the balance of HHS department, FDA (food vs. drug vs. device), ONC, and CMS to gain some clarity on what the next 4 years might hold. buff.ly/4jwJm7Y

Understanding DeepSeek's impact on tech, finance, and global relations has been daunting. Key FAQ points: China's unexpected parity with U.S. labs; V3's low training/inference costs affecting Nvidia and markets; and its success despite the chip ban. stratechery.com/2025/deepsee…

Given the whirlwind of troubling news, opinion, and big events going on, my instinct is to stop engaging entirely in social media and the flurry of pop-up notifications. @kottke.org has a much better set of ideas on how to manage that whirlwind: kottke.org/25/01/how-to-weat…

Excited to see that the primary use cases for #ProjectStargate, with Oracle, OpenAI, Softbank, Microsoft, and NVIDIA are healthcare related -- while this will take a long time, the foundation of AI infrastructure is critical. buff.ly/42qZEt3

The #EO rollback of #AI and #HealthcareAI guardrails / restrictions by the @realdonaldtrump White House on companies building AI in medical devices, diagnostics, and software platforms is notable. More to come on this and other #executiveorders! buff.ly/4htRft6

HA gathered for our annual day of service – Founder’s Day. We are proud of our 30 year dedication to giving back, which is why the day is named in honor of our founders Paula Ness Speers and Mark Speers. Our teams partnered with 4 incredible organizations to help those in need.

As we approach the holidays, the end of the year, and increased levels of busy-ness in our personal and professional lives, this list really spoke to me. Here's to a New Year full of Level 2-4! randsinrepose.com/archives/t…

I am not sure I've ever been at a Level 7, but have definitely been at a Level 6 for a few weeks at a time and it's awful.

“Carequality [the interoperability network] exchanges 50MM provider messages per day. SWIFT [the international banking exchange that most now know from the news with Russia sanctions] exchanges 40MM per day” @mickytripathi1 — there is real scale!

“How do you get 64 diff public health agencies to connect to a common data platform? You don’t. You sign up the willing, prove value, and then hope the rest follow. TX still isn’t connected to the national *electric* grid, so this will take a while.” @mickytripathi1 @ONC_HealthIT

Hear hear. We often (though not enough) talk about provider workflow as a digital health priority, but patient (and caregiver) workflow innovation would be even more impactful if we could actually get to a viable patient-mediated platform.
While we talk of a #platform for #diabetes care or #kidneydisease care or others, this is a problem for #patients who often don’t have just one disease. IMO this is like the multiple pt portal problem. A real platform would unify various care management tools. #MITPlatforms

Two things have actually made this attractive - 1. The “blessings” of the pandemic that have taught us that virtual care works in cases where behavior change is the solution, and
