Just starting to plan our unit on subtraction. Like with the other formal written methods, we’ll transition out of the boxes, but they were such a useful scaffold in✖️ and ➗!
This worked so well for multiplication that I’m going to apply the same scaffold to short division. It’s such a simple thing but so useful.

Not being able to do Talk for Writing since moving schools has sucked. This term, I convinced my partner teacher to give it a try, and this is the sixth portal story I’ve been shown from children writing at home in the last week and a half ✨📖✨

One of the most helpful things I did midyear was to save my most-used maths representations / scaffolds onto a standalone PPT. Wish I’d done it sooner!

I bought a box to store the lovely thank you cards and keepsakes I was gifted at the end of term, and it’s turned out nicer than I expected 🥹 School has shelves next to the teacher desks, so it will live there and hopefully be a little boost of joy on the trickier days ✨💛
