Often hard work and consistency get all the credit for success, and rightfully so, but flexibility and creativity are the true hidden superpowers.

Quincy was, yes, one of the greatest and most influential composers and producers of... well ever. But he was also a living cultural repository. The stories this man carried within him. The things he'd seen. I truly do not think there is ANYONE left who was in *all* the same rooms, or witnessed *all* the same moments, as he did. Not even close.

Nothing against the trades at all but watch what they do, not what they say.

Conservatives often talk about “luxury beliefs.” One such belief is when tech elites tell you that college doesn’t matter, while VCs and FAANG seek out Ivy League and MIT/Caltech grads for their ventures.

I’ve been on this for a few years now. Why on earth should I want this?
Elon Musk admits that he and Trump will crash the economy, but it’s okay, because they’ll build a better world from the rubble. Not exaggerating, he just said it.

It was a great time. The 90’s were probably peak America. Especially towards the end of the decade

One thing I didn’t expect to learn as an adult is that showing up everyday on time with a good attitude and doing your best will set you apart from 90% of people.

Remember when mongodb came out and everyone got so hyped and started using it just to end up switching back to sql? Remember when microservices got hyped but now the industry recommends use a monolith first? Remember when graphql came out and everyone started hyping it up until they ran into tons of short comings? Give new tech 5 years and reevaluate. Adopt that mindset and become a senior engineer.

I’ll say it again: the AI apocalypse doesn’t look like a Terminator-style nuclear war, it looks like a society drowning in AI generated bullshit and misinformation that so pollutes everything as to make it impossible for people to tell real information from AI created nonsense…
Google's own researchers now say AI is a top vector of disinfo, in a paper that severely and obviously undercounts the problem 404media.co/google-says-ai-n…

Yes, I do think men should be feminists, ie. support the equal rights, opportunities of, and respect for, women. We can do that AND pay proper attention to the needs & challenges of many boys and men. It is not zero sum!
I wouldn't recommend Richard Reeves because he still thinks men should be feminists. The guys at the Center for Male psychology is much better especially John Barry. centreformalepsychology.com/…

Things that destroyed the internet: 1. The Eternal September of social media 2. Enshittification of Google into a list of ads 3. Algorithmic feeds turning pull media into push media 4. China and Russia spamming us with divisive crap 5. AI slop flooding everything

💯 This is so spot on. This could easily be an ad for AI, with all our jobs and whatever remaining joys we have in life in the crusher.
This ad perfectly encapsulates the insight that people think technology is killing everything we ever found joy in. And then presents that as a good thing. I haven't seen such a visceral backlash to a spot in a long time.

A big misconception is that you need to be motivated to get rolling. You don't. Research shows motivation often FOLLOWS action, not the other way around. In practice: you don't need to feel good to get going; you need to get going to give yourself a chance at feeling good.
