CHS will have a traditional, in-person graduation on June 4. The ceremony will be outdoors, and the location is to be announced, according to Dean Marci Tuzinsky.

The AAPS Board of Education is currently meeting to vote on whether or not to continue with the current return to learning plan.

The BOE has voted 5-2 to continue with the current plan. The no votes were by Trustees Gaynor and Querijero.

The AAPS will be offering a drive-thru, PCR salvia testing event at Huron High School on Saturday, April 24 from 12 noon - 4 p.m. More details to come.

The AAPS Board of Education is currently meeting to share updates. Superintendent Jeanice Swift shared plans for an Asian American and Pacific Islander parent support group and encouraged interested parents to contact the district to get involved.

"This is a different kind of infection rate in that it is infecting younger individuals," Swift says in her update of reopening progress. Covid cases are worse than ever, but the AAPS has a greater understanding of how to address the situation, Swift said.

On Feb. 8, 2021, the starting gun fired and, 3:57.66 later, CHS senior Hobbs Kessler made history. Running the fastest indoor high school mile ever, Kessler also became the eleventh high schooler to break the lucrative four-minute mark. buff.ly/31VQfsY
Due to the delayed return to hybrid, in-person learning, classes on April 8 and 9 will now be held synchronously, 9th grade orientation is postponed to April 22 and 23 and standardized testing dates are pushed back to April 27 - 29. (2/2)
