Great working with @byjimcarroll and @RTEBrainstorm to share insights from our @SMARTLAB_Lk project. We all learned so much from the experience.

A popular vote seems a cruel way to decide if people should have to stand waiting 5 or 10 minutes longer for a bus in the depths of December. Those voting to scrap the bus lane will pass those waiting while in the comfort of their cars. Shameful stuff #Limerick, simply shameful. x.com/LimerickCouncil/status…

The Active Travel team is continuing to monitor nitrogen dioxide (N02) levels across the Metropolitan area and has been doing so for a twelve month period. N02 is primarily released into the air from the burning of fuel, forming from the emissions of cars, trucks, buses and other similar vehicles. The current EU limit is set at 40 micrograms per cubic metre. However, this EU limit is to be reduced to 20 micrograms per cubic metre by 2030. More on average N02 levels across 2023-2024 can be found here: Update: limerick.ie/council/newsroom… #ActiveTravelLimerick #Limerick #LimerickEdgeEmbrace @NTAActiveTravel @moranjohna1

I actually feel depressed after reading this. The city is just so backwards in its thinking. Giving out about the Crescent and at the same time complaining about the lack of events. Closing a bus lane for more traffic rather than pedestrianising for the season. I want to cry!

You can find me on bluesky under cityintersect. I've used Sky Follower Bridge to find about 350 of you over there, but it's not perfect so please do connect if you've made the move.
