🎙️ Interview with Gigio,
@MaverZero, founder of M.A.V.E and
@Ryodan_mave !
When discovering a Web3 project, questions are inevitable: does it have real
utility? Is it built to last? How will it transform the digital space?
We asked our founder Gigio to answer without filters. Vision, challenges,
strategies, and the future of M.A.V.E.: here’s what he shared with us👇
1. What is M.A.V.E.’s long-term vision?
M.A.V.E.’s vision is to create an ecosystem that merges the real and virtual worlds through decentralized technologies. We aim to build tools that put individuals at the center, ensuring privacy, ownership, and interoperability in an increasingly connected world.
When people talk about the metaverse, they often think only of virtual worlds, but its true meaning is different: an interoperable network where a single digital identity grants access to any online service.
As a company, we want to actively contribute to shaping the future of the internet and the metaverse by collaborating with the most innovative players in the Web3 space.
2. How do you plan to turn this vision into reality?
This is only possible through blockchain, which ensures ownership of our online data, and open-source technology, which enables compatibility between different technologies.
Another key element of our vision is augmented reality (AR). We believe AR will be the ultimate bridge between the physical and digital worlds, which is why we are developing protocols that allow users to own and control their digital assets in a shared environment.
3. The boundary between real and digital is becoming increasingly blurred. How will M.A.V.E. change the way people interact with both?
It may seem counterintuitive, but blockchain will make online dynamics resemble those of the real world much more closely. Let’s take a couple of examples:
- Cryptocurrencies restore actual ownership and direct control over our money. In traditional systems, access to funds can be limited or conditioned by intermediaries.
- The same applies to NFTs, which introduce the concept of unique digital ownership, closer to physical objects than traditional files, which can be endlessly copied and modified.
M.A.V.E. aims to take this even further. By creating a seamless bridge between the physical and digital worlds with the Maver ID protocol and phygital tools, we will enable people to experience digital spaces as a natural extension of their reality.
4. Everyone talks about interoperability and open-source, but what makes M.A.V.E. truly different?
Our commitment to real interoperability is reflected in protocols like ERC-5773, an evolution of the multi-asset NFT concept.
ERC-5773 allows a single NFT to contain multiple versions of an asset and adapt automatically based on the ecosystem in which it is used.
In practice, an NFT can have:
- A 2D representation on a platform,
- A 3D model in a metaverse,
- An AR version visible through glasses or compatible devices.
Imagine owning an NFT that represents a game item: in an AR environment, you see it in 3D, in a metaverse, it becomes a weapon or gadget, while on a marketplace, it appears as a detailed illustration.
This fundamentally changes the concept of digital assets, making them dynamic, contextual, and cross-platform.
Our goal is to make these protocols truly accessible and usable by anyone.
5. Connecting protocols and blockchains is one of the most complex challenges. How do you plan to ensure real and functional interoperability?
Interoperability is one of M.A.V.E.’s core pillars. To achieve it, we will use cross-chain solutions, secure bridges, and open-source APIs that allow different protocols to communicate seamlessly.
Another powerful tool at our disposal will be Maver ID, which will enable currently incompatible wallets to connect under a single account.
6. How do you plan to promote the adoption of Maver ID?
We will work closely with the community and strategic partners, demonstrating how Maver ID can solve real-world problems related to digital identity.
Some of the actions we will take:
- Integrating it with dApps and Web3 services, offering simple and immediate tools for developers and users.
- Releasing complete and open-source documentation so that anyone can implement it without barriers.
- Showcasing real-world use cases to facilitate adoption in gaming, social identity, and exclusive content access.
Developers and creators interested in building with Maver ID can already contact us to join the waiting list for our integration tools.
7. What is the project’s roadmap?
The roadmap includes multiple parallel developments. The release of new features will also depend on community input: we have many ideas and potential use cases, but we want users to help us prioritize the most impactful solutions.
Here are the key milestones:
1. Launch of the Ryodan collection to build an active community of digital explorers.
2. Development of the Maver ID protocol, partnering with Web3 projects for integration.
3. Testing and implementation of AR technology while preparing for full blockchain integration. We will collaborate with brands in fashion, gaming, sports, and entertainment.
4. Reveal of PFPs along with the new website, featuring collector status functionality and the ability to customize one’s Ryodan.
5. Collaborations with existing Web3 projects to adopt ERC-5773.
6. Merchandise reveal.
7. Announcement of our second collection, leveraging ERC-5773 on a different blockchain.
8. Integration with Maver ID will showcase true interoperability potential.
8. Ryodan is M.A.V.E.’s first NFT collection. When will it launch?
The launch is scheduled for the coming months. We are refining every detail to deliver a collection that stands out both aesthetically and technically.
We are finalizing the smart contract, ensuring that every line of code is public and verifiable on GitHub, allowing anyone to check that it performs exactly as promised. Our minting process will feature an automatic refund mechanism in case of unmet sales targets, and anyone will be able to verify how it works.
As they say in Web3: trust the code, don’t trust the man.
9. How will the royalties from the Ryodan collection be used to support the project and the community?
The royalties will be equally split between the company and a community vault.
A portion will fund grants for developers and creators who want to build with our protocols.
Another portion will be allocated to community initiatives, but due to European regulatory complexity, we cannot yet disclose details. We are working with legal experts to ensure full compliance while maintaining community engagement.
10. What collaborations or technologies do you plan to integrate to ensure Layer 3’s success?
We will collaborate with as many AR headset developers as possible, as they are currently focusing primarily on hardware and integration with everyday applications.
Our role will be to build the underlying infrastructure, a truly decentralized framework for augmented reality that enables digital objects to “overlay” the real world.
11. What is the business model that will allow M.A.V.E. to grow without compromises?
M.A.V.E.’s business model is based on three main pillars:
- Development of open-source Web3 protocols: M.A.V.E. creates interoperable protocols to facilitate enterprise entry into Web3, supporting identity integration and customization.
- Monetization through premium services and consulting: in addition to offering open-source tools, M.A.V.E. will provide specialized assistance to companies integrating our protocols, developing tailored solutions.
- Innovation in AR and IRL events: before making the AR protocol fully on-chain, M.A.V.E. will test it in live events focused on fashion, concerts, and sports, validating the model, generating revenue, and attracting investments.
The ultimate goal is to create a sustainable ecosystem that generates economic value even in the real world and that, with a business model spanning both Web2 and Web3, brings new resources into the sector without letting them flow out.
12. Will M.A.V.E. have a native token in the future?
We are not ruling out the idea of a token, but our current priority is to build solid and truly useful infrastructures.
Perhaps in a couple of years, when we finally unveil our marketplace for holograms.
Did I just say marketplace? Pretend you didn’t hear that… 😉
For us, it is essential that any future token has a clear utility and is not just a speculative asset.
13. How do you plan to address the legal implications of a decentralized digital identity across different regulatory frameworks?
We will collaborate with legal and technical experts to ensure Maver ID complies with local regulations while preserving user privacy.
We have already partnered with 42 Law Firm, one of Europe’s leading blockchain regulatory firms.
Our approach is based on transparency and adherence to global standards, avoiding legal shortcuts or compromises that could hinder ecosystem growth.
