was already annoyed with one ad playing in the middle of trailers at AMC, but lately they’ve been playing 2-3 ads during the trailers. STOP!!!!!

People in LA now that we don't have deal with Pratt for 6 more months:

Los Angeles City Council member Nithya Raman has overtaken Spencer Pratt in the race for L.A.’s next mayor. After trailing the Republican and former reality star in a distant third, Raman leapfrogged Pratt for second place after the latest round of ballots was counted on Sunday afternoon. variety.com/2026/politics/ne…

YOU CAN LIVE FOREVER is streaming on Netflix. I loved this film — a sapphic romance between two teens in a Jehovah's Witness community, sensitively acted by Anwen O'Driscoll and June Laporte, all about queer love and religious devotion as forms of enduring, all-consuming faith.

I think it's great that young filmmakers are living their dreams and getting to make movies and break records at such young ages...but I also think it's telling that it's only really happening for white cishet men. They're the only ones given the privilege to start so early.

"Tribeca co-founder Jane Rosenthal called the film 'a powerful example of how emerging technologies like AI can be used not simply as tools of innovation, but as vehicles for deeply human storytelling.'" Deeply embarrassing shit right here.

The 2026 #TribecaFestival has set the world premiere of the fully AI-generated film “Dreams of Violets” for June 10:  • This marks the first feature-length, live-action film generated by AI to be accepted by a marquee film festival • The 75-minute docudrama, inspired by the protests that swept Tehran in January, highlights five Iranians who meet in a Tehran alley before they’re executed, all witnessed from a window by Amir, a 10-year-old boy with cerebral palsy variety.com/2026/film/festiv…
