Reform leader of Bradford Council, Stephen Place wants the government to revoke the ministerial direction that makes the Clean Air Zone a legal requirement for Bradford.
In other words: he wants to scrap the CAZ.
For the sake of our children's health the CAZ must be retained.
🌬 Next Thursday is Clean Air Day!
🚨We are calling on Bradford Council's new Reform-led administration to keep the Clean Air Zone and use Clean Air Day on 18 June to set out how it will further improve public health and air quality across the district.

New plans due for the 'Bradford - Shipley Route Improvement Scheme'.
Previous plan involved widening roads which would have increased traffic and worsened air pollution.
That plan was scrapped so we are keen to see whether the new plan will be more positive for air quality.
🌬 We are backing the Clean Air Zone in the @Bradford_TandA today.

We are really pleased to hear that this road widening scheme has been ditched.
We had serious concerns about the likely increase in #AirPollution as a result - especially as the road was due to be widened right outside a Primary School.
Well done @BSTAlliance 👏
Saw this on a gate in BD5. Looks like the next generation are embracing the environmental messages .
It reminded me of that Cherokee saying: "We do not inherit the Earth from our ancestors but we instead borrow it from our children"

📣 The #Bradford Clean Air Zone goes live today.
🌬 The CAZ will help clean up Bradford's dirty air and reduce harms from #AirPollution.
➡️ There is lots more to do but this first step will start to protect the health of our most vulnerable residents.
Thank you to all those involved in making today such a successful #CleanAirDay 🎉
Let's use this momentum to create a clean air future and continue to play our part in helping to reduce #airpollution 🙌🙌🙌
ATHLETE have been working alongside @BankfootPrimary & @AllSaintsSchBD5 to develop bespoke interventions in order to help children reduce their exposure to air pollution. This has included meeting with key stakeholders & parents, to come up with the best solutions

The BiB Breathes team are working with over 200 children as citizen scientists to measure air quality levels in & around Bradford schools. This data will be used to see if the Clean Air Zone has an impact on the air quality & therefore our childrens’ health.
