To my Astoria and Oregon Coast peeps: I’m doing a book-release event for The Native Who Never Left next Sunday and if you’re free and feeling it you should come on out!
Letting my Astoria friends know: I’ll be having a little book release/signing at Gathered from 4 to 530pm on August 6th for my new poetry collection The Native Who Never Left. My friend Lauren Mallett will be sharing some poems as well. Mark your calendars and come on out!!!
Waking-up poem: Ah, this deeply felt collection of poems from @cliffponca 👏👏👏 Cliff Taylor takes you down a road you must walk, a history you must know & cannot now ignore, a journey you will acknowledge that makes you also "float in reverence"— A must-read!🤎🤎🤎
Watched MEN and liked so much about it -the set up, mood, direction, music- but can’t say I was satisfied with where it all eventually went. The ending was wild, if not immediately understandable, or what I as a viewer wanted. 2 1/2 out of 4 smiling severed heads.🍿
Just got back from camping in the old-growth of Oregon and man is my day being made by the book love that was waiting for me. Buy my book and your whole library will begin to glow…more!!! Thanks @shanehawkk!!!
Support the good people. Cliff Taylor (@cliffponca) is not only good people but talented to boot. THE NATIVE WHO NEVER LEFT, an Indigenous (Ponca) poetry collection with heart, awaits you…

In the fall of 2011, I was on a road trip in the south, passing through Gainesville, FL, when I mentioned to my girlfriend at the time that one of my favorite writers, Harry Crews, lived there. She said, “Let’s look him up.” She googled him from her phone and his home address…
Was honored to do a reading for the youth of my tribe and then give the Keynote speech for the annual staff meeting (250 people, my biggest audience yet!). Thanks to my tribe for these awesome invitations!!!
On June 28, 2023, Ponca Author and Poet Cliff Taylor visited District 3 youth to read excerpts from his newest book, "The Native Who Never Left." Cliff's books can be purchased on Amazon.

Excellent little read. Surprising, cinematic, incredibly well-drawn. A crew of inmates who fight wildfires get drawn into a heist and it goes wrong. Picked this up from the library and was totally pleased by every page.📚
Spotted at the Co-op. Made me think of my coffee drinking: the teenage years. Could drink it cup after cup endlessly. Couldn’t sleep very well, but that was unrelated.☕️
Dropped some more copies of my new poetry collection THE NATIVE WHO NEVER LEFT off at our local Native-owned vintage store yesterday. Do you have your copy yet? If not, what’re you waiting for?!😎
