Huge congratulations to @apurvas96, @thetysonchen, and the entire @getavoca team on reaching a $1B valuation 🚀 In @cloud_capital's ~6 year journey, this is our 2nd🦄. Avoca was the 4th investment from Cloud Cap's latest US fund (powered by @galaxyfunds). We partnered with Avoca during their seed round, right as the company was crossing ~$1M ARR. Apurva, pretty confident that this is the inflection point - where product, market, and momentum all was starting to click. This is an appreciation post, acknowledging that with the best teams, you don't have to do much. Just get out of their way and cheer (be helpful when needed). Avoca is solving a painfully large problem in home services, where missed calls literally translate to lost revenue. Doing my annual rewind for @cloud_capital differently this year. 2024 has been a bizarre year for Cloud Capital. Quite a few investments from 2021/22 shut down while there were a few up-rounds. This year also unlocked a special milestone in the journey of any venture investor — having a unicorn in their portfolio. 🦄 ⚡ After syndicating investments for the past 4 years, Cloud Capital now invests from its US fund. This means more predictable cheque sizes, faster wiring, and ease of investing across geographies. The cancer care startup Oncare has secured $1 million in seed funding led by Huddle Ventures, with contributions from TRTL Ventures, Cloud Capital, and DeVC. The funding will be used to establish 10 new centers in Delhi NCR, Bangalore, and Jaipur within two years.
