Since joining OpenAI the amount of congressional staffers that've (very kindly and politely) reached out abt careers in AI/tech from offices whose Reps/Senators rail against AI/tech/infra is...notable.
Tbc, there's absolutely nothing wrong with that and I'm always happy to chat and help people connect with opportunities/networking etc. I didn't agree with the electeds I worked for on everything either, but the divisions there feel a lot wider than on most issues.

Rumour has it that @Microsoft is apparently getting into building planes. Fully run on Windows OS with Azure-backed services. Also includes a new pioneering feature to assist Pilots. They are calling it Co-Pilot.

Anyway IMO this is one more reason why fewer and fewer people look up to Uncle Bob - including me.
I enjoyed his books a decade and a half ago. But cannot relate to any of his views or reactions the past several years.
I respect people differ in opinions and how we see things.

Paid tech conferences are rightfully held to high ethical standards.
Customers should not have to do due diligence on them. Paid speakers on the other hand, do. If they find that something is wrong: hopefully choose their integrity over the speaker fee.
