One of the biggest barriers to helping people get excited about crypto is the whole industry has a reputation for scams, rug pulls, and pyramid schemes.
It’s a major problem and that’s why I’m excited about today's web3 product review: Clustr
The gist of
@clustrio is that it’s difficult to research every angle of every token, especially if you’re a beginner.
Their platform allows you to analyze your portfolio and easily assess risk, leveraging Clustr’s dynamic assessment model.
I'm reviewing a web3 product every day -- please like and re-post! It helps me and the products I'm reviewing.
Overview 📋
Clustr is a research platform that helps you analyze how much risk you have in your crypto investment portfolio.
They’ve analyzed hundreds of assets using fundamental and technical analysis, over dozens of different variables of risk.
Their platform makes it very easy to assign different tokens to an allocation in your portfolio, then review the risk from various factors like underlying technology, tokenomics, market performance, network activity, etc.
It’s a simple UI that makes it very easy to see how risk your crypto portfolio really is.

What I loved ❤️
1️⃣ Letter grades. Clustr assigns a letter grade (A , A, A-, etc.) to every asset in the platform. There’s just something so simple about assigning letter grades to the portfolio rating, along with color-coded heatmap. This makes it very easy to see how risky your portfolio is, along with a clear breakdown of the different factors that go into the score.
2️⃣ I was honestly impressed at the shear volume of coins available in the app. In order to include a token asset, Clustr needs to have research to assign a score. They have 700 assets, so they’ve analyzed (qualitatively and quantitatively) all of those assets to include in their models.
3️⃣ I felt very comfortable with the methodology and levels of detail that the Clustr team put into their research. There were multiple simple resources, as long as a complete explanation of their entire methodology.
Opportunities 🚀
I can tell that the product is still very new, so I’m sure that Clustr has many features planned that are not yet in the app. With that being said, here are a few things I would like:
1️⃣ It seems really obvious to allow different type of wallet logins to auto-import your existing portfolio. This would only require read-access to the wallet data but would make it much easier to assign a portfolio rating to your existing Coinbase assets, for example. It would be nice to include the top 5-8 wallets in this regard.
2️⃣ I would really like to see more data on individual assets that I added in my portfolio. The score breakdown seems fairly generalized across my portfolio — I’d like to see whatever qualitative and quantitative inputs are generated for each specific token.
3️⃣ I’ve always loved the “dummy” approach to an investment portfolio that just has a slider with “high risk” at one end and “low risk” at the other end. I would love to see a similar tool from Clustr where I ask, “what assets could I consider to take on more risk?” Then Clustr would recommend higher risk assets.
I imagine that Clustr is reluctant to recommend investments but I’m sure they could find a way to offer this information without positioning it as financial advice.
Conclusion 🧐
I’ve never seen an asset analysis tool like this for crypto and I think it’s a fantastic idea and well-executed. It’s still very early and I assume they will add many new features, but I’m excited about their future and plan to use the tool again.
